YCAR Names Van Keck Realtor® of the Year, December 2010
Congratulations to Van Keck of the Prudential Northwest Properties McMinnville office for being named 2010 Realtor® of the Year for the Yamhill County Association of Realtors!
Since beginning his real estate career seven years ago, Van has jumped into serving and leading YCAR in many capacities, including as our 2009 President. Before getting started in real estate, Van was a successful publishers rep with Random House and covered sales for five northwestern states.
Van has been an active community member placing great value in service and giving back. For the past 30 years he has been a member and leader of Rotary Club of McMinnville (Van received a Rotary award this year for achieving the highest rose sales!), and is a long-time member of the Yamhill County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse.

What has helped Van persevere through the tough real estate market? “Setting goals,” he says, “and constantly assessing where I can improve.” One of his goals is to meet a new friend every day and expand his network in hopes of helping people buy or sell their next home.
Another way to gain inspiration to persevere in your real estate career, he shares, is to become an more active member of YCAR. Van says getting involved in YCAR is “an opportunity to share enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience” with one another. Our association is comprised of seasoned Realtors® who have weathered market challenges from decades past, along with newer agents coming on the scene. Both have much to contribute to one another.
Van was born and raised in Yamhill County and is happily married to Glenda, his wife of 44 years. They have one grown daughter, Kelly, who also lives in the area.

Realtor® member Lucy King or Prudential NW Properties, McMinnville Branch was named Woman of the Year at the McMinnville Jaycees’ annual Distinguished Service Awards banquet on April 5, 2010. YCAR is very proud of Lucy and her dedication to serving her community. She is equally dedicated to her real estate clients. Congratulations Lucy!
