2011 Annual REALTOR® Charity Auction
The Yamhill County Association of Realtors® Charity Auction took place on October 12, 2011 at The Golden Valley Brew Pub in McMinnville and raised approximately $20,765.00 (official results to come soon). The three charities received 100% of the funds raised! Learn more about these three special organizations below.
The YCAP Food Bank provides food, organizational and technical support to a countywide network of Partner Food Agencies of emergency food box pantries, soup kitchens, group meal sites and a gleaner group. There are 25 partner agencies total: 13 pantries, two soup kitchens, nine group meal sits and one gleaner group. The YCAP Food Bank works hard to ensure that boxes/meals are healthy and have a variety of good food groups including fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, cereals and grains.
Henderson House provides a safe environment for women and children to stabilize from their initial crisis situation. Victims work with an advocate to develop a plan for them to move forward from victim to survivor. They empower clients by providing information about their abuse, provide them with the information so that they may make informed choices and we support them in their decision making. Henderson House is the only 24-hour crisis agency in Yamhill County.
Yamhill-Carlton Education Foundation
The Yamhill-Carlton Education Foundation raises contributions and distribute funds to support, promote and increase the quality of public education in the Yamhill-Carlton School District. The group works to enhance community support for public education, serve as a source for funding post-high school scholarships for Yamhill-Carlton public school students, and promote and fund public school staff development.
